I otherized an elderly man at the gym last week. I watched him spray down the equipment he was using with disinfectant far more than what was necessary. I thought it a ridiculous waste of time, energy, and resources and judged him so. However, a couple minutes later I realized how judgmental I was being. Maybe he is at a greater risk for disease, or he has had run ins with gym diseases like ringworm or staff before and had a traumatic experience. After this exercise, I have, and will continue to take greater cautions in evaluating the actions of others.
